①Main production process of hot-rolled seamless steel pipe:
The production of domestic API 5L Seamless Steel Pipe mainly goes through the following processes; tube billet—cutting—heating—perforation—rolling—fixing (reducing) diameter—straightening—cutting head and tail—inspection—packaging——storage.
According to the different pipe rolling methods, the API 5L Seamless Steel Pipe rolling mill can be divided into automatic pipe rolling unit, continuous rolling pipe unit (MPM two-roll continuous rolling mill, PQF three-roll continuous rolling mill), Assel rolling mill, Accu rolling mill, Periodic pipe rolling units, etc. The newly installed rolling mills are mostly MPM continuous rolling pipe units and PQF three-roll continuous rolling pipe units, such as Tianjin Steel Pipe Company’sΦ460,Φ258 PQF continuous rolling pipe unit, Hengyang Steel Pipe’sΦ273 MPM continuous rolling pipe unit, Pansteel Chengdu SeamlessΦ340 MPM continuous pipe rolling unit,Φ159 PQM continuous pipe rolling mill, AnshanΦ170 PQF continuous pipe rolling mill, etc.
Tube blank piercing is the most important deformation process in the production of hot-rolled API 5L Seamless Steel Pipe. Its task is to pierce and roll solid tube blanks into hollow capillary tubes. According to the structure of the piercer and the deformation characteristics of the piercing process, the existing piercing methods can be divided into: cross-rolling piercing, push-rolling piercing and pressure piercing, and cross-rolling piercing is the most widely used.
There are three types: roll type, fungus type (conical) and disc type. The roll piercer rolls are used in small rolling mills, while the large unit piercers use fungus rolls. Disc piercers are rarely used. Regardless of the shape of the roll, in order to ensure the realization of the tube blank biting and piercing process, there are piercing cones (roll entrance cones), rolling cones (roll exit cones) and roll rolling strips (the transition between the entrance cone and the exit cone) )composition. Most of the piercing machine rolls adopt the combined structure of the roll shaft and the roll sleeve, and the two adopt a direct interference combination or a keyed interference combination.
API 5L Seamless Steel Pipe are divided into the following varieties due to their different uses:
GB/T8162-1999 (Seamless Steel Tubes for Structures). Mainly used for general structure and mechanical structure. Its representative material (grade): carbon steel 20#, 45#; alloy steel Q345, 20Cr, 40Cr, 20CrMo, 30-35CrMo, 42CrMo, etc.
GB/T8163-1999 (API 5L Seamless Steel Pipe for conveying fluids). It is mainly used for conveying fluid pipelines on engineering and large equipment. Representative materials (grades) are 20#, Q345, etc.
GB3087-1999 (API 5L Seamless Steel Pipe for low and medium pressure boilers). It is mainly used for pipelines for conveying low and medium pressure fluids in industrial boilers and domestic boilers. The representative materials are 10# and 20#.
GB5310-1995 (seamless steel pipes for high pressure boilers). It is mainly used for high temperature and high pressure transport fluid headers and pipelines on boilers in power plants and nuclear power plants. Representative materials are 20G, 12Cr1MoVG, 15CrMoG, etc.
GB5312-1999 (carbon steel and carbon-manganese steel seamless pipes for ships). It is mainly used for Class I and II pressure pipes for ship boilers and superheaters. Representative materials are 360, 410, 460 steel grades, etc.
GB1479-2000 (API 5L Seamless Steel Pipe for high-pressure fertilizer equipment). It is mainly used to transport high-temperature and high-pressure fluid pipelines on chemical fertilizer equipment. Representative materials are 20#, 16Mn, 12CrMo, 12Cr2Mo, etc.
GB9948-1988 (seamless steel pipes for petroleum cracking). Mainly used in boilers, heat exchangers and pipelines for conveying fluids in petroleum smelters. Its representative materials are 20#, 12CrMo, 1Cr5Mo, 1Cr19Ni11Nb and so on.
GB18248-2000 (seamless steel pipes for gas cylinders). It is mainly used to make various gas and hydraulic cylinders. Its representative materials are 37Mn, 34Mn2V, 35CrMo and so on.
GB/T17396-1998 (hot-rolled seamless steel tubes for hydraulic props). It is mainly used to make coal mine hydraulic supports, cylinders and columns, and other hydraulic cylinders and columns. Its representative materials are 20#, 45#, 27SiMn and so on.
GB3093-1986 (high pressure seamless steel pipe for diesel engine). It is mainly used for high-pressure fuel pipes of diesel engine injection systems. The steel pipe is generally a cold drawn pipe, and its representative material is 20A.
GB/T3639-1983 (cold-drawn or cold-rolled precision seamless steel tubes). Mainly used for mechanical structures and carbon press equipment, steel pipes requiring high dimensional accuracy and good surface finish. It represents the material 20#, 45# and so on.
GB/T3094-1986 (cold-drawn API 5L Seamless Steel Pipe special-shaped steel pipe). It is mainly used to make various structural parts and parts, and its material is high-quality carbon structural steel and low-alloy structural steel.
GB/T8713-1988 (Precision inner diameter seamless steel tubes for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders). It is mainly used to make cold-drawn or cold-rolled seamless steel pipes with precise inner diameters for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. Its representative materials are 20#, 45# and so on.
GB13296-1991 (stainless steel seamless steel pipes for boilers and heat exchangers). It is mainly used in boilers, superheaters, heat exchangers, condensers, catalytic tubes, etc. of chemical enterprises. High temperature, high pressure and corrosion resistant steel pipes. Its representative materials are 0Cr18Ni9, 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 0Cr18Ni12Mo2Ti, etc.
GB/T14975-1994 (stainless steel seamless steel pipe for structural use). It is mainly used for general structure (hotel, restaurant decoration) and chemical enterprise mechanical structure resistant to air, acid corrosion and steel pipe with certain strength. Its representative materials are 0-3Cr13, 0Cr18Ni9, 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 0Cr18Ni12Mo2Ti, etc.
GB/T14976-1994 (stainless steel seamless steel pipe for fluid transportation). It is mainly used for pipelines conveying corrosive media. Representative materials are 0Cr13, 0Cr18Ni9, 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 0Cr17Ni12Mo2, 0Cr18Ni12Mo2Ti, etc.
YB/T5035-1993 (API 5L Seamless Steel Pipe for automobile axle shaft casings). It is mainly used to make high-quality carbon structural steel and alloy structural steel hot-rolled seamless steel tubes for automobile half-axle casings and axle tubes for drive axle housings. Its representative materials are 45#, 45Mn2, 40Cr, 20CrNi3A and so on.
