Comparatively stronger than its predecessors, the Api 5l X70 Tubular products are well suited for use in the conveyance of liquid and gaseous media across industries. While these pipes are available in both seamless and welded variations, the major difference between them is the weld seam on the longitudinal cross section of the ISO 3183 L485 Pipe.

  The carbon steel Api 5l X70 Seamless Pipes are much harder and durable due to the absence of a seam. They are also more expensive. Furthermore, to accommodate the construction of a welded Api 5l X70 Pipe, the chemistry is modified. A lower carbon content in steels improves weldability to a certain degree. Hence, a welded Api 5l X70 Psl 1 pipe would have a slight modification in its chemistry, but only with regards to its carbon content. Secondary to carbon, these steel API 5L Grade X70 PSL 2 pipes contain a substantial amount of manganese as a microalloying element. Manganese is known to boost several important properties of carbon steel alloy.
