ASTM A106 seamless pipe also known as ASME SA106 pipes generally refers to pipes that are of seamlessconstruction and are majorly used for transportation of gas and liquid from one location to another locationASTM A106 pipes are most suitable for High-temperature services and handle a good amount of pressureThese pipes are manufactured as per the dimension standard of ANSI B36.10 / ASME B36.10. In ASTNA106 Grade B is the most commonly used pipe, this grade is the client's first choice for use, due toeconomical prices and ease of availability throughout the world.
The pipes have minimum Yield strenath of 240 MPa for grade B pipes and 275 MPa for arade C pipes andminimum tensile strength of 415 MPa for grade B pipes and 485 MPa for grade C pipes with a minimumelongation of 16.5%/30%.
The pipes are manufactured by cold drawn finish process or Hot finished process. Cold draw finish pipesrequire subsequent heat treatment of Normalizing at 900 deg. C. These pipes are mainly used in industriessuch as oil and gas refineries, petrochemical plants, boiler, chemical plants, Shipbuilding.
